Ahead of the launch, the business has now confirmed some camera information about the upcoming mobiles. Huawei’s VP of International Product Marketing, Clement Wong claims that the Huawei P30 Pro will sport a periscope-style zoom camera. Wong supported that the P30 Pro periscope-style camera to Android Central, while also stating that the Huawei P30 series will significantly up its match in low-light photography too. He said that the P30 series mobiles will include a next-generation nighttime camera, which will be a’major upgrade’ to the Huawei P20 Pro that currently performs great in low-light places. OEMs have been faking to their low-light photography match since Pixel 3’s night sight mode was introduced this past year, and Huawei will seem to upgrade on that front also.
While Wong confirmed that the P30 will game a periscope zoom lens, he did not just go into the specifics of the zooming capabilities. It is rumoured that the P30 series will support lossless zoom, also Huawei has been teasing it well in the past. However, Wong only points towards a recent sample photograph which was posted on the internet. The photograph of the moon shot by CEO Richard Yu and its detail suggests at amplified zooming capabilities. Wong only says the photograph was shot on-device, handheld, with no extra assistance.
Wong also promises the P30 Pro’s camera could offer”something nobody (has done) before.” This hints in mechanical zoom lens integration, but it’s all speculation now.
A video teaser has also surfaced of this upcoming Huawei P30 series along with the moon photograph sample makes an appearance in the video, teasing the upgraded zooming capabilities. Separately, tipster Roland Quandt has leaked that the Huawei P30 will come from 6GB RAM + 128GB storage bundle, while the Huawei P30 Pro comes in 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 256GB storage, and 8GB RAM + 512GB storage bundles. He also says that the configuration will depend on the country it is launched, and even colour alternatives, and that more RAM + storage choices may be introduced since the launching is still far away.
Design wise, leaked renders imply the phones will sport a dewdrop-shaped notch in front. The Huawei P30 will game a triple rear camera setup at the back, while the P30 Pro will game a quad camera setup at the back. The sensors will be aligned vertically followed by a dual-LED flash module. The quantity and power buttons have been housed on the right edge, along with the fingerprint sensor is inserted under the display.
Previous rumours imply that the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro smartphones will sport OLED screens with a waterdrop-style notch and optical in-display fingerprint detectors. The Huawei P30 is said to possess a maximum of 40-megapixel and support for 5x lossless zoom.
