Google on Thursday Declared that Google Assistant is now Being Able to book cabs across ride-hailing services like Uber, Ola, Lyft, Grab, Go-Jek, and more.
Users will then have the ability to ask Assistant, Google’s digital helper, to reserve cabs from their Android phones, iPhone, Google Home, or some other Google Assistant-enabled smart speaker. Aside from the capability to reserve cabs, Assistant will also show you wait times and pricing for each operator to assist you make the decision without having to get into the respective programs.
The Mountain View, California-based technology giant has curated many popular ride-hailing operators throughout the globe, however the whole list hasn’t been released yet. In India, the partners include Uber, Ola, and Meru. To prompt this new action, you’ll have to say”Hey Google, book me a ride into [preferred place ]” prompting a listing of options. Alternatively, to select ride choices from one provider like Ola, users may say”Hey Google, get me an Ola ride to Gateway of India.”
Once done, select the preferred cab-hailing provider from your smartphone and the program will open to allow you to confirm the reservation. This attribute is rolling out in English first, and certainly will be expanded to other languages in the future. “If you’re in a hurry and your palms are all tied up, then you’ll now have the ability to use this Assistant to see all your favorite ride services in one place and decide on the one which works best for you,” said Vishal Dutta, Product Manager, Google.
Prior to this update, Google Assistant would open up Google Maps when prompted for taxi details. The update lets it display details such as wait time and fare pricing right on the electronic helper itself.
Earlier this week, the Google Assistant app on Android has been redesigned to offer bigger visuals which are comfortable to check atnew controls and sliders for handling smart home gadgets, and a new interactive messaging interface, along with other updates.
